A politician by any other name is still…oh, well. You pick the definition that applies:
POLITICIAN (noun)
One who is actively involved in politics, especially party politics.
One who holds or seeks a political office.
One who seeks personal or partisan gain, often by scheming and maneuvering: “Mothers may still want their favorite sons to grow up to be President, but . . . they do not want them to become politicians in the process” (John F. Kennedy)
One who is skilled or experienced in the science or administration of government.
Guess which definition I chose? 🙂 Don’t be disheartened, dear. A lot of your contemporaries in Congress had the same experience. Funny, Barack keeps saying people are clamouring for affordable health care and all I see are average American citizens saying “NO”.
So, explain that whole “we need this badly and we need it NOW!” thingy to me again…
