A Difficult Decision…

Well, I can’t believe I just made the decision I did.  It was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be.  I just ammended my voter registration card and declared “Libertarian” as my party.

This may not seem like such a big deal to some people, but it is to me.  The strangest part is that my choice was final after I saw clips of the unveiling of Ronald Reagan’s statue today at the Capitol.

You see, Ronald Reagan (to me, at least) embodied a “Constitutional Politician”.  I felt that our Founding Fathers would have been proud when we chose President Reagan to represent us both at home and abroad.

Both the Democrats and the Republicans have fallen so far away from what our Nation was meant to be, that I have lost faith in their ability to not only protect the rights of the many, but also to respect the rights of the individual in the process.  There is so much in-fighting and bi-partisan bull shit that they seem to be unrecognizable as the Leaders of our Nation.

After reading many articles, blogs and books, watching news programs and the like, the Libertarian Party has come across as the most Constitutionally conscientious.  I hope I have made the correct decision.  I believe that I have.
