Posted by: sstorm0730 | July 8, 2009 I was one of those weird kids who actually read “A Tale of Two Cities” because I liked it. I spent my summers with my nose in books (when my parents didn’t ship me off to sleep-away camp) that other kids my age found boring.
One of my favorite authors was Orwell. He seemed to have creepy honesty down to a science. Lately, Animal Farm has popped into my head quite often. Could it be that Orwell had some futuristic vision of our current political situation? The animals band together to rid the farm of the oppressive humans…the pigs, through fancy words and nasty deeds, become the most powerful…and before the other animals become aware of what the pigs have done, they are at their mercy.
Sound familiar?
“All animals are created equal but some animals are more equal than others.” – George Orwell, Animal Farm

I have seen you comment on my blog a couple times. I just found out you have a blog of your own. Very good and funny stuff.
I just finished reading both Animal Farm and 1984. The true ending to Animal Farm, as opposed to the CIA made cartoon, reminds me of the poli-critters who claimed that they were going to Washington to represent us and ended up becoming like those they claimed they were fighting against.
